The Tata Tiago JTP and the Tigor JTP now come with a larger 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic folding mirrors and automatic climate control as well.
If you are planning to buy a somewhat fun car which is also affordable, the Tata Tiago JTP and the Tigor JTP are one of your very few options. However, both these cars have been a little miser when it comes to features and equipment. However, Tata Motors have now addressed the issue. The Tata Tiago JTP and the Tigor JTP are set to receive some brand new features and the updated models will go on sale as early as August 4.
Until now, both the Tata Tigor JTP and the Tiago JTP came with tiny 5-inch infotainment screens. This new update will see both cars with a new 7-inch touchscreen unit and this time, they will also be Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatible. The Tiago JTP will also get a new automatic climate control as it only got a manual unit all this while. The Tigor JTP got the automatic climate control unit as standard. Automatic folding mirrors are also part of this update for both the cars and now, these cars are in line with the top-spec XZ+ variant of the standard car in terms of features.
Other standard features on both the cars include projector headlamps, 8-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system, steering wheel mounted controls, multi-info display on the instrument cluster, power windows and even driving modes. As for safety features which are now mandatory, the JTP twins get dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, driver seatbelt reminder and follow-me home headlamps.

Currently, the Tata Tiago JTP and the Tigor JTP are both powered by a BS4-compliant, 1.2-litre turbocharged 3-cylinder petrol engine that develops 112 bhp and 150 Nm of peak torque. In both the cars, the engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. The real talking point about the JTP twins have always been their sub-10 second sprint from naught to 100 kph, which is unheard of in this segment.
