With a G-NCAP score of 4-star, the Tata Tiago has proven to be one of the safest budget cars available in India
Tata Motors has proven to be manufacturer of some of the safest cars in our market by ensuring all its products, regardless of their price and size, provide a high crash worthiness. The Tiago, which has been its most affordable offering since the discontinuation of the Nano, is no different in this aspect. Already, it has proven to be a safe car with a 4-star score in Global NCAP crash test and the various instances of its accident have time and again validated its test result. Today, we have visuals of a horrific crash of the small car with a truck at 130 km/h. But the Tiago has once again proven to be very safe as the video we have below shows the driver himself speaking about how his car protected him.

As per the details provided above, the Tata Tiago whose mangled remains are seen above was being driven at a speed of 130 kmph when the driver spotted a Neelgai on the road. In order to avoid hitting the animal, he steered right and hit a truck. The driver can be seen narrating the incident and telling that he feels lucky to have been in a Tiago instead of any other vehicle. The collision was of such high intensity that the car has been deformed beyond recognition. The entire front-end has been totally damaged and the extent of the crash can be gauged from the fact that even the roof of the vehicle has caved in.
However, the driver of this Tata Tiago is totally safe and has only suffered a minor injury on his head that seems to have been caused by the caving in of the roof. The airbag of the vehicle saved the driver from coming in contact with the steering wheel, while the strong body shell of the small car kept the impact from penetrating strongly into the cabin. While the car itself seems to be in an irreparable condition now and will be probably termed as a ‘total loss’ by the insurer, the driver, who was alone in the vehicle, is in good health and thanks the car for keeping him alive in such a huge accident.
