Tata Tiago Electric Vehicle will rival the likes of Mahindra e20 Plus and Mahindra Verito. Safely expect this car to cost upto Rs 10 lakh
It is by now fairly well known that Tata Motors, the popular passenger car, and commercial vehicle manufacturer, has been busy readying electric versions of its popular models. The company plans to launch these electric vehicles in near future. Of course, prices of these EVs will be substantially more than that of the fossil fuel-sipping variants, but it’s simply impossible to overlook the green credentials of these cars. One of the upcoming Tata electric cars in India is the Tiago Electric. The Tata Tiago Electric vehicle is on display at the Auto Expo 2018 and is likely to launch by the end of this decade.

The Tata Tiago Electric is powered by 3-phase AC induction motor that outputs a maximum power of 30kW at 4,500 RPM. The electric motor gets its juice from a 216 Ah 16V battery pack that can be fully charged in six hours. A fast charger can charge the batteries from zero to 80% in just 90 minutes. This EV has a range of 130 KMs on a full charge. In terms of looks, the Tiago EV looks a lot like the regular version. However, you can differentiate it from the Petrol/Diesel variants by the EV badging, a blue highlight on the fog lamps, a knob-like gearlever, and blue body decals.
