Check out this accident where a Tata Tiago got into a high-speed crash but the airbags failed to deploy. The passengers were still reported safe.
In this another accident scenario of a Tata Tiago, the airbags of the car did not deploy. The owner said that the car was travelling at a decent speed and had a head-on-collision with another car. The impact has come up on the front as the entire front portion has received a substantial damage.
The bonnet has crumpled up and even the side fenders have been impacted. The bumper has come down further allowing the damage to enter the engine bay of this Tata Tiago. The car looks completely brand new as it comes with a temporary number plate sticker. The alloy wheels however are in proper shape.

Thanks to the strong crumple zones, the impact has not reached the doors allowing the safe passage of the people inside. The owner was driving this car along and escape the accident without any injuries. However, the airbags did not deploy for which he has registered a complaint with the officials.
Since its a new car, dual-airbags will come as standard fitment. For the front airbags, the sensors are located at the front which can be seen damaged. Either the owner was not wearing seatbelts which is an important criteria for the airbags to work or it could be some sensor/technical issue.
Tata Tiago comes with a four-star safety rating making it the safest hatchback under Rs 5 Lakhs. It gets a 1.2 Litre three-cylinder Revotron petrol engine that is good for 86 PS and 113 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. The highly efficient and capable diesel engine is no longer available on Tiago as well as on Tigor.
