Prices for new model Tata Safari Storme have been announced
Tata Motors sure seems to be taking their SUV business seriously. We reported earlier that Tata is planning to develop two all-new global SUV’s in collabaration with Jaguar and Land Rover, and that these models will be launched globally by 2017. Now if that seems to be something for the future, in the present, the TATA Safari Storme facelift has got a new lease of life. With the launch of the refreshed model, Tata Motors hopes to snatch some light away from the new Mahindra Scorpio. New Model Tata Safari Storme Pics
As we just said, the media drives for the Safari Storme facelift have just commenced and here are some of the pics of the soon to be launched model!
The only substantial visual update for the upcoming car seems to be a new front grille, which has taken inspiration from its counterparts on Land Rover models. On the inside, the car gets a new steering wheel, which comes from the Zest/Bolt and has audio controls, and a new Harman audio system. Also, the 4wd settings have moved to the centre console.

The prices of the new 2015 Tata Safari Storme are as below:
- 2015 Tata Safari Storme LX 4×2 – Rs. 9.99 Lakhs
- 2015 Tata Safari Storme EX 4×2 – Rs. 11.60 Lakhs
- 2015 Tata Safari Storme VX 4×2 – Rs. 13.02 Lakhs
- 2015 Tata Safari Storme VX 4×4 – Rs. 14.35 Lakhs

Fuel Mileage
The new model Tata Safari Storme gets marginally better fuel mileage than the model it replaces. The Safari now returns 14.1 km/l (vs 14 km/l of the old iteration). Also, the car’s fuel tank capacity has been increased from 55-litres to 63-litres, thereby improving the ‘range on full tank’ by a significant margin.

Specs
The new model Tata Safari Storme is powered by the same 2.2-litre four-cylinder VARICOR oil burner that powers the outgoing model. The motor comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and or the latest iteration, the motor has been tweaked to pump out an increased higher max. power of 150 PS (gain of 10 PS). The torque remains the same at 320 Nm. The Safari 2015 benefits from a new 260 mm diameter self-adjusting clutch.

This will not be the first time the Safari Storme gets a facelift. In a bid to prop up its sales, the manufacturer launched the Safari Storme Explorer Edition with additional features sometime back. The company also displayed a rugged-looking “Ladakh” version of the SUV at the 2014 Auto Expo. Mahindra is set to roll out the updated XUV500 in near future and Tata could just end up playing the gatecrasher to M&M’s party.
