The question is whether the latest Tata Safari will steal the show from Mahindra XUV 700 on Aug 15, which is the release date of the latter? Arguably, the Mahindra XUV700 launch is the most anticipated event in the automobile industry in the immediate future. To be positioned above the XUV500 in our market, the XUV700 will be a 7-seat premium mid-size SUV and will rival the likes of Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Hyundai Alcazar. Mahindra is promising to make the XUV700 the most feature-packed SUV in its class and we have no reason to believe otherwise considering the official teasers that Mahindra has put out as a part of the marketing of the SUV. It will definitely shake up the segment post-Independence day.

Tata Safari – The Arch Nemesis
If we talk in realistic terms, Tata Safari will prove to be the arch-rival of the Mahindra XUV700. According to some latest hashtags in Tata’s camp, it is planning to spoil the launch party of the XUV700 by introducing something known as the “Connect with SOUL” experience. SOUL refers to SUV Owners Ultimate League. SOUL is a webinar series for the community to rekindle their memories of past adventure trips. It is a virtual get-together, of sorts, to bring a sort of unity in the Tata SUV owners community to stand the upcoming challenge from the fellow Indian carmaker. After these webisodes, the #ConnectWithSOUL series will offer maintenance tips and DIY challenges to keep the members engaged and enthusiastic.

In addition to the SOUL initiative, Tata Safari has also been spotted in a camouflaged version earlier hinting at something interesting. Rumours suggest that there might be a 4×4 version of the Safari lurking in the shadows. Tata had announced at the launch of Safari that the platform does support 4×4 drive system capabilities. If the demand arises, it will introduce the 4×4 version of the iconic SUV. It might also be planned somewhere around the launch of the XUV700 to keep the rivalry alive and interesting.
