Tata Motors is a carmaker that manufactures cars with its prime focus on safety irrespective of the price of the vehicles.
Did you know that the original Tata Safari had a crash test back in 1997? Yes, you heard that right! Tata products are being so talked about these days due to their safety prowess. But the foundation was laid by the carmaker back in 1997 when it established the country’s first crash test centre. This aspect was mostly overlooked back then. In fact, it wasn’t until 2018 when the Nexon bagged full 5 stars at the GNCAP test that people got serious and conscious about safety in cars.

Tata Safari Crash Test
Tata Motors created a crash test facility in 1997. It was the first crash test centre in India. This reflects that the carmaker was particular about safety in cars since then. That is the reason why even the cars prior to the Nexon from Tata used to have such rugged build quality. We have seen the unfortunate accidents of a lot of Tata cars like Indica, Indigo, Zest, Sumo, etc. Almost all of them used to perform well in such cases. They were able to sustain severe damage because of their strong build.

The current version of Safari has not yet been crash tested by the GNCAP. However, we have reported numerous instances of crashes of Safari and Harrier. Both SUVs have shown promising results in undesirable circumstances. We expect both of the to score decent ratings once GNCAP decides to test them. Apart from them, the Tiago and Tigor compact cars have scored 4-star safety ratings at the GNCAP. They boast the highest safety ratings in their respective segments.
