It is not often that one gets to experience such an extremely modified iteration of a mass-market car
In this post, we are able to get a glimpse of a Tata Safari 6×6 which is on sale in the used car market. Safari has been an iconic product in the Indian automobile market for years. Note that I am not talking about the latest iteration of the Safari which has been on sale only for a few years. The first-gen Tata Safari was launched in India back in 1998. In fact, throughout the 2000s, it was among the most aspirational SUVs in the country. Furthermore, it was even used by top politicians and other celebrities in that era.
Tata Safari 6×6 on Sale
We are able to come across the details of this case via the carkhoj handle on Instagram. As per the information in the post, this is a 2013 model which is available in Farrukh Nagar in Haryana. The asking price is Rs 2 lakh. However, the biggest talking point of this SUV is its 6×6 configuration. It gets 6 tyres which is clearly an ambitious aftermarket alteration. The car modification house has evidently increased the length of the car to accommodate another axle to this SUV. That has resulted in the addition of two more tyres.
Now while the post claims that this is a 6×6 SUV, I reckon this might just be a regular 4×4 or 4×2 with the addition of two non-driven tyres. This means that it simply has an extra pair of wheels which are not directly driven by the engine. In any case, it definitely holds a unique appeal for all those who want a rare and distinct iteration of the iconic Safari. I must admit, this has to be among the most unique versions of the 2013 Tata Safari I have come across in a while.
My View
Going for used cars has become immensely popular in the last few years. People head to the used car market to look for great deals on prominent products. However, you could even find absolutely rare products like this 6×6 Tata Safari. In any case, I would like to mention here that most car modifications are illegal in India. Therefore, you need to keep that in mind before opting for something like this. Otherwise, you can get in trouble with the traffic cops later on.
