A latest case of a Tata Punch and Mahindra Bolero crash emerged, highlighting some interesting results. Both these are tough SUVs. On the one hand, we have the Tata Punch. It is a micro SUV which boasts a full 5-star safety rating at the Global NCAP. That is what makes it so popular in our market. People get the benefit of such a safe car at affordable prices. Tata Motors does this consistently. On the other hand, even Mahindra offers some incredibly safe SUVs. Its Bolero is an iconic rugged SUV which finds applications generally in semi-urban and rural areas. For now, let us take a look at the consequences of this recent crash.
Tata Punch and Mahindra Bolero Crash
This video comes from Nikhil Rana on YouTube. This channel often uploads content around road safety and the consequences of road accidents on cars. This time around, a case has emerged from the mountains of Uttarakhand. As per the information in this video, this incident took place near Almora while a family of 5 were travelling in the Punch from Haldwani to Pithoragarh. Suddenly, the Mahindra Bolero driving down the hill from the opposite direction hit the Punch from the front. In fact, the collision affected the front right tyres of both SUVs.
The result is evident. Apart from the tyres and some minor dents, both SUVs are in perfect condition. Since the occupants in the Punch were wearing seatbelts, the airbags were deployed. As a result, no one suffered any injuries. Thankfully, the speed of both cars was not high due to being on an incline. That is the main reason why there were no injuries. Needless to mention, driving in the hills is a matter of skills and we must be extra vigilant to ensure safety.
Our View
I have reported tons of accidents of people on the mountain roads. It is not easy to drive in such environments if you are not used to it. Extra precaution must be exercised to drive safely in the hills due to the topography. Thankfully, this crash didn’t bear fatal consequences because the speed was under control. Otherwise, it is common for cars to fall off the cliff in the mountains after a solid impact. Let us pledge to be responsible drivers and follow traffic regulations vehemently.
