The Tata Punch facelift was spotted testing on public roads recently. Punch is a micro-SUV which sits below the famed Nexon in Tata’s portfolio. Ever since its launch back in 2021, it has been doing great on the sales charts. People are attracted to the idea of owning a tiny SUV without having to shell out huge money. Moreover, the Tata Punch comes with tons of modern amenities, a butch stance, striking looks and a 5-star safety rating. With the facelift, we could see aesthetic modifications along with the addition of a few new features. Let us take a look at the details here.
Tata Punch Facelift Spotted
This video comes from MotorCar Gyan on YouTube. It captures the test mule plying on the road. Needless to say, the micro SUV is wrapped under a heavy camouflage. Still, its silhouette gives away its true identity. Even though the body is covered in wraps, the headlamp cluster on the bumper is evidently visible. This hints at the same fascia as the current model, i.e., LED DRLs on the bonnet and the main headlight unit on the bumper. However, we might see connected LED DRLs, vertical headlights and a redesigned bumper. Apart from that, the front profile looks rugged and the side section has the large wheel arches.
I also noticed rear door handles mounted on the C-pillars. At the rear, it still gets a familiar taillight, shark fin antenna and a sporty bumper. All in all, the changes to the exterior will be limited. On the inside, we might get a few new elements borrowed from the Punch EV. These include a two-spoke steering wheel, digital instrument cluster, 10.25-inch infotainment unit, 360-degree camera, wireless charging, redesigned dashboard, all four disc brakes, 6 airbags as standard and more. These aspects will definitely make it much more appealing.
Specs
In terms of engine specifications, it will continue to get the existing 1.2-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated engine which develops 88 PS and 115 Nm of peak power and torque. This engine pairs with either a 5-speed manual or an AMT automatic gearbox. In addition, there is also a CNG version on sale which is good for 73 PS and 103 Nm of peak power and torque. Since Tata Motors offers automatic gearboxes with CNG models, I expect the Punch CNG to get both gearbox options. At present, the retail price ranges from Rs 6.13 lakh to Rs 10.20 lakh, ex-showroom. The facelift avatar will certainly bear some premium over these.
