Tata Nexon EV and Punch EV become the latest Tata cars to bag a full 5-star safety rating at the Bharat NCAP. Note that we will get the Bharat NCAP score for all cars going forward as India moves to its indigenous testing agency. It is based on the updated Global NCAP test. Nexon and Punch already boast a full score at the Global NCAP in ICE configuration. But the electric iterations now offer the best safety standards too. Let us take a look at the details of the scores of the two EVs.

Our View
Both Tata Nexon EV and Punch EV are already massively popular on the EV sales charts in our country. In fact, the Nexon EV possesses the largest market share in our market since its inception. The Punch EV is also doing a decent job. With the validation of the Bharat NCAP, people will be drawn toward buying these even more. I must mention that everyone was expecting this score since the ICE versions of both these SUVs already have a 5-star rating. Tata Motors merely converts its ICE cars into EVs by replacing the engine with an electric powertrain. Therefore, the integrity of the body structure was never tampered with. Still, to have the confirmation is appreciable.
