Here are the thoughts of a Tata Nexon EV owner in Delhi as he has completed nearly 10,000 kilometres on his electric vehicle.
Recently, Tata Nexon EV crossed the 1,000 sales mark in the country after it was launched towards the end of 2019. It is the most affordable EV that you can buy in India, priced from Rs 13.99 Lakhs going up to Rs 16.15 Lakhs (ex-showroom). Recently, it experienced a slight price hike for the mid-spec and top-end variants.
Here is a video of a Tata Nexon EV owner who has shared his experience after completing 10,000 kilometres with the car. He was the first owner of Nexon EV in Delhi NCR. He owns two other cars as well which includes a Honda City and Hyundai Grand i10. The owner has compared the performance of Nexon EV with the other two cars.

He says that the Tata Nexon EV feels better in acceleration in comparison to City and Grand i10. Also, he feels the AC cooling of the EV is better and more effective. In the city, the EV delivers a driving range of around 220-230 kilometres while on the highways, it easily goes up to 250 kilometres. The ARAI-claimed figure is 312 kilometres.
Also, the owner feels that Nexon EV manages to deliver the complete driving experience of an SUV. Right now, he is planning a Delhi-Chandigarh Road Trip which is around 245 kilometres. While he faces a tension regarding the range, but, Tata motors have informed him about a charging station which is around 120 kilometres from Delhi.
Nexon EV gets a 30.2 kWh electric motor that is good for 129 PS and up to 260 Nm of peak torque, depending on the Eco Mode and Sport Mode. The charging time with a 3-pin socket is about 17-18 hours, while with a home AC charger, it will take 6-7 hours for 100%. If you use a public fast charger, it will take about 50 minutes for 0-80% charge.
