This is the second time that Tata Motors have delayed the unveil of the Nexon EV. It was first scheduled on December 16, then on December 17 and now the 19th.
Tata Motors had previously said that they would unveil the Nexon EV on December 17. Now however, Tata Motors have pushed the dates of the global debut of the Nexon EV by two days to December 19. While they haven’t stated the exact reason for the reschedule, this is the second time that Tata Motors have delayed the unveil of the Nexon EV which was initially scheduled for December 16.
The technical specifications have not been revealed yet, but the electric SUV will use Tata’s new Ziptron EV technology. It will be equipped with an IP67-rated lithium-ion battery which will offer a claimed driving range of 300 kms. The battery pack will also get liquid-cooling inside, which will help in maintaining the engine temperature. Also, Tata motors will be offering an 8-year warranty on the battery pack and the electric motor.
For that, Tata has also kickstarted its #UltimateElectricDrive campaign, in which the electric Tata Nexon will be taken from Manali to Leh to be tested in adverse terrain and extreme weather conditions.
Tata Motors is likely to offer a standard AC charger to be installed at home and an optional fast charger as well. We are expecting the EV to take around 4-5 hours to be charged fully. Further, the same technology and battery pack are expected to come on the upcoming Tata Altroz EV.

With this, Tata is also going to launch the facelifted Nexon soon. The facelift will see the tweaked front and rear bumpers, a new front grille and some changes inside the cabin. We can also expect some new features like electric sunroof, front parking sensors and more. We expect the changes to the facelift will be seen on the EV as well. The estimated price range of the electric Tata Nexon is around 15 Lakhs (ex-showroom). It will go against the likes of Mahindra XUV300 Electric, which is also slated to be launched next year. Interestingly, the XUV300 EV is also offered with a 300 kms range.
