Tata Motors is all set to launch a new Nexon facelift on September 14. Bookings of the electric sub-compact SUV are now open. Revealed recently, the the e-SUV features a more modern styling package along with a handful of updates to its powertrain. Unlike the outgoing model, which was quite identical to the ICE version, the facelift enjoys a distinct identity.

Modern Fascia for 2023 Tata Nexon EV Facelift
As you can see in the images we have here, the 2023 Tata Nexon EV features an LED light bar connecting the hood-level LED DRLs. This helps the electric SUV with a unique look. Akin to the ICE version, it gets vertically stacked LED headlights. Other elements look similar to the ICE version. On the back, the upcoming model features a “Nexon.EV” badge in the middle of the tailgate. The new branding should soon make it to other electric cars in the company’s EV lineup. Meanwhile, the ICE model features a “Nexon” badge on the top right side of the tailgate.
Updated Interior
The Nexon.ev’s dashboard design mirrors the regular Nexon but incorporates various textures and materials like carbon fiber-like trim, soft-touch elements, and glossy black surfaces. It replaces the rotary drive selector with a traditional gear lever. Notable features include a class-leading 12.3-inch touchscreen (larger than the ICE Nexon’s 10.25-inch screen), an illuminated two-spoke steering wheel, customizable 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster with navigation, and touch-based HVAC controls. The cabin offers a high-tech feel with minimal physical controls.
Top-spec Nexon.ev facelift boasts features like a 360-degree camera, connected car tech, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, air purifier, fast-charging type-C ports, a single-pane sunroof, JBL sound system, voice commands, OTA updates, and more. Tata introduces the Arcade.ev app suite for streaming OTT platforms like Prime Video and Disney+ Hotstar.

2023 Tata Nexon EV Safety Features, Range and Battery
The Nexon facelift comes equipped with a range of safety features, ensuring a secure driving experience. These include standard features such as six airbags, ABS, ESC, front parking sensors, blind view monitor, three-point seat belts for all seats, ISOFIX anchors, hill descent and ascent control, all-wheel disc brakes, panic brake alert, and emergency and breakdown call assist. Tata has also reinforced the vehicle’s body structure to enhance side impact protection.

Variants and Specs
With the facelift, the Nexon EV Prime and Nexon EV Max variants have been named to “Nexon.EV MR” (medium range) and “Nexon.EV LR” (long range), respectively. As before, the MR featuring a 30kWh battery and the LR has a larger 40.5kWh battery. However, the MR now boasts an ARAI-claimed range of 325km, while the LR offers a range of 465km. This is a 12 km improvement for both.
Both versions now come standard with a 7.2kW AC charger, enabling a full charge from 10 to 100 percent in 4.3 hours for the MR and 6 hours for the LR. When using a DC fast charger, the charging time reduces to just 56 minutes for both versions. The EV version of the popular SUV now boasts a new Gen-2 permanent magnet synchronous motor that is 20kg lighter. It even uses 30 percent less rare earth materials, and incorporates improved cooling and battery management systems. It also features enhanced four-level brake regeneration. The MR generates 129hp and 215Nm, while the LR produces 145hp and 215Nm. Power outputs stay the same, but torque has decreased by 30Nm for the MR and 38Nm for the LR variant. The cars offer three drive modes: Eco, City, and Sport.
