With an influx of new electric vehicles, it’s only a matter of time before we have a reasonably priced 7-seater MPV EV
Currently the most affordable electric SUV, the Tata Nexon EV is reasonably successful. Also, the Indian carmaker has got the lower market covered with the electric versions of the Tiago and Tigor. Still, though, there lies an opportunity for a 7-seater electric vehicle to enter the sub-Rs 20 lakh segment. This is exactly where a Tata Nexon EV 7-seater MPV can capture the demand. A rendering by SRK Designs visualizes what looks like a production-ready model of the same.

Revised Rear-half for Tata Nexon EV 7-seater MPV
Obviously, the 7-seater MPV version of the Tata Nexon EV would be a tad longer. The rear changes will take place after the B-pillar. As seen in the rendering, the rear end is entirely new. The rear door is longer and has a more squarish profile. The coupe-ish C-pillar of the Nexon makes way for a more upright one that frees headroom for third-row occupants. The front fascia, though, stays the same. You have the same sleek headlamps with stylish LED DRLs and projectors. Even the signature blue accents are present here.
The diamond-cut dual-tone alloy wheels come from the Harrier/Safari. The longer rear door not only eases ingress and egress but even helps the MPV with a high road presence. The rear quarter window ensures the third row feels sufficiently airy. The illustration doesn’t show the rear section of the Tata Nexon EV 7-seater MPV. However, we won’t be surprised to see some modern design elements from the latest concepts from Tata Motors.

Specs
Tata Nexon EV has been India’s most successful electric car. It’s been available in three variants – XM, XZ Plus, XZ Plus Dark Edition, XZ Plus Lux, XZ Plus Lux Jet Edition and XZ Plus Lux Dark Edition. Its prices range from Rs.14.99 – 17.50 Lakh. The electric SUV is even available in a ‘Max’ range with better range and performance. The more premium range comprises XZ Plus, XZ Plus Lux, and XZ Plus Lux Jet Edition variants. The regular Nexon EV features a 30.2kWh lithium-ion battery that offers an ARAI-claimed range of 312 km. It produces 129 PS of max power and 245 Nm of peak torque. The Max version offers 141 bhp and 250 Nm. It has a 40.5 kWh battery pack with an ARAI-certified range of 437 km. Of course, it would make sense for the 7-seater version to feature the bigger battery pack.
