Tata Nexon Buyer Alleges Delayed Delivery
Anticipation turned into frustration when the buyer, who hoped to receive his car in the afternoon, found himself waiting for his vehicle at the showroom for many hours. After a long wait, he finally took possession of his new Tata Nexon at 8:45 PM. Despite the late delivery, the buyer was happy to receive his car and drove over 90 km to get back home. However, the next morning was pretty disheartening for the owner. On attempting to drive his vehicle out of a narrow street, the gearbox allegedly refused to slot into the correct gear. Regardless of his gear selection, the transmission stubbornly engaged a different gear altogether. The owner can be heard talking how his car was virtually undrivable in the video we have below.
Unsatisfactory Response from Dealership
Next, the Tata Nexon owner reached out to the Tata dealership from which he bought the vehicle. He claims he was given a response that left him more baffled! He was told the car was in perfect shape when it was handed over to him and that he hasn’t been given a defective car. Dissatisfied with the dealership’s response, the buyer pushed for a resolution to his predicament. After some discussions, he has been told that road-side assistance would pick up his vehicle for a thorough inspection at the service center.
Adding fuel to the fire, the buyer’s allegations were not limited to the technical glitch alone. He claims that the dealership did not perform a Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) on his vehicle, potentially exacerbating the issue. Still, the buyer expresses his support for Tata Motors. He says that by sharing his experience, he hopes to draw the attention of Tata officials as it could lead to necessary enhancements in their quality control processes.

What We Think
The incident involving the Tata Nexon buyer’s gearbox issue serves as a cautionary tale about the importance of thorough quality checks before delivery. While Tata Motors has a history of producing sturdy vehicles, this occurrence underscores the need for constant vigilance and improvement in all aspects of the buying experience.
