Tata Nexon has been gaining popularity since its launch in 2017. Tata’s first compact SUV takes on TUV 300 and Ford Ecosport. Now it has commenced the bookings of Tata Nexon AMT variant with some added features. Nexon AMT comes with ‘HyprDrive Self-Shift Gears’, which introduces different driving modes in the car.
Tata Motors officially announces bookings of Tata Nexon AMT after its gaining popularity in the subcompact SUV market. Nexon hit the road in 2017 and has been a good choice since then. Tata Motors has officially announced the bookings of Nexon AMT across all dealerships in India at an amount of Rs 11,000. The price and launch date are not disclosed yet but it might launch in the first week of May. The car also gets some minor upgrades and is the first car in its segment to get an automatic-diesel combination. The price of the car is estimated to range between Rs 7 Lakh to Rs 9 Lakh.

Tata Motors introduces Nexon with HyprDrive Self-Shift Gears (S-SG). Interestingly, the Nexon HyprDrive Self-SG is the first AMT in India to have three drive modes -Eco, City and Sport – in an automatic transmission car. Nexon Hyprdrive with Self Shift Gears will come in both Petrol and Diesel option. Automatic Transmission will come in Nexon’s top end XZA+ variant.

On the other hand, Tata Nexon AMT gets some minor features in the car. It gets a Crawl Function which moves the car in slow moving traffic without pressing the accelerator. Other features include Smart Hill Assist, intelligent transmission controller and a wearable key. The key can be worn as a wristband for ease of comfort. The new Manual Trip-Tronic transmission in the car allows the driver to shift gears manually.

Tata Nexon comes in petrol and diesel variant. The petrol variant is powered by a 1.2 Litre Reveotron engine and the diesel variant is powered by a 1.5 Litre Revotorq engine. The petrol engine makes 110hp and 170Nm of torque. While the diesel engine produces 110hp and 260Nm of torque. Also, the AMT will sport a 6-speed transmission in both petrol and diesel variants. As Tata likes to place its car in an aggressive price range, the AMT version of the car might range between Rs 7 Lakh – Rs 9 Lakh (ex-showroom). Both diesel and petrol variants with AMT might come in this expected price range.
