The upcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo is shaping up to be a monstrous event with many promising products
To take on its indigenous rival, Tata Motors might be planning to introduce something along the lines of the Tata Sumo at the Bharat Mobility Expo. Note that the Expo will take place between January 17 and January 22, 2025, in New Delhi. As we have seen in the last few years, we get a glimpse of what to expect in the Indian automobile market for the entire year. Not just that, carmakers even display cutting-edge technologies or new-age products they are working on for the future. For now, let us check out a brilliantly executed virtual rendition of the Tata Sumo.
Tata Sumo at Bharat Mobility Expo?
These illustrations come to us courtesy of carindianews on Instagram. I must admit the digital artist has done a commendable job to create an entire Sumo lineup which includes a pickup truck as well as an SUV. In fact, the artist has gone a step further and showcased multiple versions. The front section contains a butch appearance with an embellished front grille which is neatly nestled between sleek LED headlamps. The lower part contains rugged bumper elements with a hardcore skid plate and tow hooks. Moving down the sides reveals prominent wheel arches with elegant alloy wheels. At the rear, the pickup truck version has a solid cargo compartment, while the SUV bears a modern appearance with a roof-mounted spoiler, LED taillamps, and a sporty bumper with a sturdy skid plate.
Interestingly, the artist has even depicted the interior cabin. The beige colour screams premium and opulence. There is a three-spoke steering wheel with a digital instrument cluster and a free-standing touchscreen infotainment display which elevates the appearance of the dashboard. Furthermore, the dashboard contains different textured layers which also extend to the side door panels. The sunroof lovers will rejoice in a massive unit which provides an airy feeling for the occupants. The plush upholstery and a massive armrest between the front seats give the impression of a high-end luxury car. All in all, this rendition certainly portrays a premium product.
My View
Now our sources tell us that Tata Motors has some big plans for the Bharat Mobility Expo. Since it has been dominated by the Mahindra Scorpio N and XUV700 in this segment and the Harrier and Safari duo hasn’t been able to keep up, it is entirely possible that the Indian auto giant will prepare a more modern and capable SUV. While we shall still have to wait for the details in this regard, the prospect makes me believe that this segment is about to get even more heated.
