In India motorsports isn’t much developed as in other countries but it is on the track of evolvement. When it comes to motorsports in India the first thing that crosses your mind is rally racing. Some of the most prestigious ones include Raid de Himalayas, Desert Storm Rally, Dakshin Dare Rally etc.
People are too obsessed with rally racing and love this sport more than Formula 1. Talking about rally racing Tata Motors has seen a marvelous year as a few months back it bagged the Desert Storm Rally 2011 title and now it conquers the Dakshin Dare Rally 2011 terrain.
With another victory this year, Tata’s determination and hard work has been paid off. The Full Throttle team started off the rally with a team of off-roaders which included two Tata Xenon XT and Tata Safari and Tata Indica Vista 90. Coming to the rally, it started on 13th June 2011 from Sri Perumbudur in Chennai and ended on June 17, 2011 in Bangalore.
The different sections of the rally covered terrains of Kodaikanal, Coimbatore, Ooty, Mysore, in the states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala & Karnataka respectively and a total of 1,800 km was covered by Tata Full Throttle team. For the Manufacturer SUV class, Tata Xenon XT stood first whereas for the endurance category it bagged the second place.
Debut rally cars Vista 90 BHP stood at the first and the second place in the Manufacturer Car class and third & fourth in the endurance category. Tata Motors understands the enthusiasm for rally racing in India and has launched a website – www.tatamotorsfullthrottle.com, basically to attract more people towards this motorsport. The website also informs you about the initiatives taken by Tata Motors and the delivers almost everything concerned with rallies, their formats, participation, preparation etc..
