Tata Motors recently marked a significant step in its electric journey with the inauguration of two Tata.ev dealerships. These specialized showrooms and service centers emphasize eco-friendliness and cater to the growing demand for electric vehicles. The move signals Tata’s intent to create a distinct space for EV enthusiasts. Giving us a sneak peak into the carmaker’s commitment to EVs is a spy shot. This picture captures Tata’s upcoming flagship EVs—Safari EV and Harrier EV.

Notably, the two test mules feature the pre-facelift styling package. This, in spite of the ICE versions getting the new-age aesthetics. Of course, even the production-spec EVs will have the latest styling language that debuted at the Auto Expo 2023. Akin to the Nexon EV, the Harrier EV and Safari EV will get additional features over the ICE version.
Tata Harrier EV and Safari EV Specifications
Currently, reports indicate the Harrier and Safari EV will feature front-wheel-drive layouts. Notably, optional dual-motor variants are set to introduce AWD systems to both SUVs. Both vehicles are slated to incorporate 60 kWh battery packs, offering a remarkable range exceeding 500 km.
Moreover, both the Harrier and Safari EVs will come with with modern EV functionalities like vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging capabilities. This signifies that these EV SUVs will not only recharge their batteries but also supply power to external devices or charge other electric vehicles.

Expected Price and Launch Date
Currently, specific launch dates for the SUVs remain undisclosed, but reports suggest Tata Motors might introduce them by the end of 2024. In terms of pricing, both SUVs will fall within the Rs 30-35 lakh range. Upon release, they will compete with electric SUVs like the Mahindra XUV.e8, BE.05, Hyundai Creta EV, and Maruti Suzuki eVX. Reportedly, both the Hyundai Creta EV and Maruti eVX will make their official debuts in 2024.
