Recently, we reported a dealership-level fraud suffered by a Tata Safari owner in Punjab. Now, one Tata Harrier owner is completely frustrated by the terrible service experience. Unfortunately, this is not the first time a Tata car owner has expressed his/her frustration and disappointment regarding the service practices and quality of Tata Motors. There have been multiple occasions where Tata has not lived up to the kind of service experience expected of them. They are currently selling cars like hot pancakes and have been securing the third spot on monthly car sales consistently in our market for quite some time now. If they want to stay there for a long time and challenge Hyundai for the second spot, they have to improve the service and ownership experience of the customers drastically. Customers like the one we are about to mention are regretting buying a Tata product even though they like the car.

Tata Motors’ Terrible Service Experience
The customer explains in detail on the Team BHP forum how he researched a lot before eventually deciding to buy the Harrier XZ model back in January 2020. He did his due diligence and eliminated the likes of Creta, Seltos, Hector, XUV500 and was torn between Compass or Harrier before he closed on the latter. However, after owning it for over a good one and a half years, he is simply frustrated with the car and wants to sell it off. There has been the same issue of a rupture and cut in a wire multiple times now. As a matter of fact, he was stranded on the road a few times. Every time, the staff at the Tata workshop promised him that the problem won’t occur again but it did. He had got many components replaced a few times now even though the odometer reads just 32000 km.

According to the owner, Tata products still lack a few basic things like decent fit and finish along with the overall service experience quality. The Harrier owner is now looking to replace his SUV with some other car and has a budget of around Rs 26 lakh. The options are almost the same as in 2020 with the exception of XUV700. He wants to wait at least a year to see how the customers react to the ownership experience of it. The Jeep Compass has become too expensive after the facelift this year. Hence, the options left for the Tata Harrier are still limited. Which SUV would you go for if you were in his shoes?
