Tata Harrier is going to make its debut in India during the month of January next year. Here are the five most interesting facts that you need to know about it.
As you must be aware, Tata Motors is currently working on an all-new premium SUV. We first saw the glimpse of it concept form at the 2018 Auto Expo. Recently, Tata Motors revealed that this new premium SUV which is based on a platform derived from Land Rover will be called as the Harrier.
The Tata Harrier (Read More) is officially going to launch in India during the month of January next year. It is for sure one of the highly anticipated products in recent times from Tata Motors. And the homegrown automaker is not leaving a single opportunity when it comes to increasing the hype around the product.

It has released a series of teasers and images highlighting a number of different aspects and capabilities of the Harrier. From its ‘all-new’ KRYOTEC diesel engine to its dynamic handling characteristics.
Let’s first talk about the engine itself. The Tata Harrier is going to launch in India with a diesel engine under its hood. This oil-burner is based on the 2.0-litre, Multi-Jet engine which current does its duty on the Jeep Compass. Tata Motors says that they have used KRYOTEC technology along with a variable geometry turbocharger. This engine’s power output is going to stand at 140 BHP.

The interesting thing to note here is that the Tata Harrier will offer both manual as well as automatic transmission options. The former will be a 6-speed unit. While the latter will also be a 6-speed unit but sourced from the stables of Hyundai.
The Tata Harrier, just like its siblings Nexon and Hexa, will get Multi-drive modes. In addition to this, there will be a four-wheel drive system on offer as well. Though this drivetrain option will be limited to the top-end variant only.

For Tata Motors, the Harrier is essentially going to be the flagship product of sorts in the passenger vehicle segment. It will have to compete against the likes of Jeep Compass and the Mahindra XUV500. As a result of this, its interiors are expected to get a premium and feature-rich treatment, especially on the range-topping variant.
The Tata Harrier will pamper its occupants with a thoroughly loaded equipment list. Features like leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, digital instrument cluster and a panoramic sun-roof are likely inclusions.

The Tata Harrier is going to employ the IMPACT 2.0 design philosophy. And on top of that, the automaker has assured us that the production-ready version of this SUV will be almost identical to the H5X concept that we all saw at the 2018 Auto Expo.
This means that the exterior design will be full of sharp creases. In addition to this, it will have its dominating aura which gives it a macho appearance.
Talking about the prices, the Tata Harrier is likely to cost somewhere around the mark of INR 13.5 lakh to 18.5 lakh. This will put it right in the middle of the competition which includes the likes of Mahindra XUV500 and the Jeep Compass.
