Tata Motors is all set to unveil a wide range of new models at the 2023 Auto Expo. This will include three new EVs.
At Auto Expo 2023, Tata Motors will unveil multiple new models, including three new electric cars. It will allow the Indian manufacturer to gauge customer interest in its future EVs. The company will also showcase its existing range of EVs – Nexon EV, Tiago EV, and the Tigor EV. It might also showcase the updated Safari and the Harrier SUVs at the upcoming auto event. Tata Motors is planning to focus on EVs at the 16th edition of the Indian Auto Expo. It will showcase three new electric vehicles. This includes the Curvv SUV Coupe EV concept and the Avinya EV Concept. Additionally, the company is working on an electric vehicle based on the Tata Punch subcompact SUV. The Auto Expo 2023 will be the global debut of the Tata Punch EV. To offer a fresh feel, all three models might receive some changes by the launch date.
Tata Punch EV
The new EV is expected to come with two battery pack options – a 26kWh (similar to the Tigor EV) and a 30.2kWh (seen on the Nexon EV). It will be based on the GEN 2 (SIGMA) platform. It is essentially a heavily modified version of the ALFA architecture. For Tata Punch EV, the GEN 2 (SIGMA) platform will be optimized for electrification. The transmission tunnel will be removed to create a flat floor and accommodate a larger battery pack. The upcoming electric car is said to offer a range of over 300km.

Tata Curvv
The Tata Curvv Concept SUV was initially showcased in April 2022. It will be offered with multiple powertrains – Pure EV, Petrol & Diesel. The Tata Curvv EV is expected to be backed by a large 40kWh battery pack. It is said to offer a range of approximately 400 km. The electric model will be based on the modified X1 platform (seen on the Nexon range) with a longer wheelbase. It is likely to measure 4.3 meters in length. The Tata Curvv EV will compete with the likes of Mahindra XUV400, Hyundai Kona EV, and MG ZS EV.

Tata Avinya
The Tata Avinya EV is the company’s first concept model to be based on the GEN 3 architecture ‘Born Electric’. The new architecture supports multiple body styles. It is said to offer more cabin space with the same footprint. The skateboard pure EV platform will allow the Indian manufacturer to use the “best weight and space efficiency”. Future Tata EVs might also be designed on this GEN 3 platform. The all-new Tata Avinya EV is said to offer a range of over 500km. As of now, there is no information about the powertrain details of the upcoming EV.
