The much-anticipated Tata CURVV has been spotted testing yet again. The upcoming coupe SUV from Tata Motors is set to enter our market soon. Interestingly, it will be among the few vehicles in our country to be offered with petrol, diesel and electric powertrains. Perhaps, we might even see a CNG trim of the CURVV down the line. That is something we have seen with Tata cars. They want to ensure that they cater to the widest possible customer range. For now, let us take a look at the details of this latest spotting.
Tata CURVV Spotted on Mumbai-Pune Expressway
This post emerges from driftxp_ on Instagram. It captures the camouflaged coupe SUV being driven on the highway. As per the information in the post, this is somewhere from the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. Its coupe silhouette is unmistakably CURVV. We have already seen the concept version at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024 a few months ago. Hence, we know that the production model will resemble the concept quite closely. The rear section is primarily visible in these images. There is a connected taillamp, a shark fin antenna, reflector lights on the extreme edges of the bumper and what look like flush-fitting door handles.
The wheel arches are pronounced and the alloy wheels look stylish even though they are partially visible. What gives away its true identity is its sloping roofline toward the rear. In recent spy videos, we have also seen the coupe SUV with the Blind Spot Monitoring feature. That is a useful active safety feature which informs the driver if there is any vehicle in the blind spot of the car. Hence, a lot of crashes could be avoided. This also indicates that the CURVV will offer the latest tech, connectivity, convenience and safety amenities to pamper the customers.
Our View
Tata CURVV will be a crucial product for Tata Motors. It will sit between the Nexon and Harrier. Hence, even though it will bear a coupe silhouette, its dimensions will be closer to any mid-size SUV in our market. That also makes it a product in the most crowded spaces in India. There are prominent players in this space with their top contenders fighting it out on the sales charts. The launch is slated for this year itself. Hence, we shall have to wait a bit longer to know more details.
