In this latest instance, the upcoming Tata Curvv EV was seen charging right next to the Punch EV. Note that Tata Motors is the biggest EV player in our market by a mile. It has around 75-80% market share in EV sales in India. It has adopted the technique of converting its existing ICE cars into EVs. That is a more affordable and relatively inexpensive way to come up with more EV models in a short span of time. However, the Curvv EV will be based on a slightly more advanced architecture just like the Punch EV. The latter boasts the acti. ev platform. Let us take a look at the details here.

Tata Curvv EV Charging Alongside Punch EV
This post comes from autojournal_india on Instagram. The host captures a walkaround tour of the two EVs parked adjacent to each other. Since the Curvv EV is yet to launch, it has a thick camouflage. Still, its silhouette informs the viewers about the identity. There is a noticeable sloping roofline toward the rear which indicates the coupe silhouette. The new alloy wheel design is also wrapped under a thick covering. At the front, the charging cable is inserted into the socket, which is located on the front grille. Looking closely, one even gets to see the sleek LED DRLs on the bonnet and headlamps on the bumper.
We have seen Tata testing the Curvv on our roads quite frequently in the last few months. The Curvv will be one of the few products which will come with an IC engine, as well as an electric powertrain. That will ensure that a wider audience gets attracted to the coupe SUV depending on their requirements. Also, it will be full of modern tech and connectivity features to woo new consumers. The cabin will be modern with tons of the latest amenities along with safety features like the Blind Spot Monitoring System and more. Further details will arrive closer to the launch.

Author’s Note
Tata Motors wants to ensure that it remains at the top of the sales charts in the EV department. In order to maintain its lead, it has already converted most of its lineup into electric. In this way, it has leveraged the success of its IC cars and attempted to make them a part of the burgeoning electric ecosystem. We shall see how well the customers embrace this upcoming electric SUV. Also, the fact that it is considerably bigger than the Punch EV clearly indicates that it will be a mid-size SUV.
