Dark Edition models are something Tata Motors offers for most of its portfolio to give the customers a distinct avatar
The upcoming Tata Curvv Dark Edition will add to the already exciting lineup of Dark Edition cars from the Indian auto giant. Curvv is a unique proposition in the sense that it is a relatively affordable coupe SUV. We know that the trend of this body type has been quite popular in the last couple of years. Hence, we see more carmakers offering products with this silhouette. Mahindra is the perfect example of this with its latest offerings. For now, let us take a look at the details of the special Curvv here.
Tata Curvv Dark Edition Teased
We get a glimpse of the Tata Curvv Dark Edition courtesy of the Tata Motors Cars channel on YouTube. The 11-second teaser barely showcases anything substantial. Still, the full-width LED lighting at the front, culminating in the LED DLRs on either side, is visible. Furthermore, the sloping roof line for that coupe shape is also seen in the teaser. Apart from that, we know from other Dark Edition models that the exterior will bear dark elements including the paint, dark chrome and piano black components. The aim is to make the coupe SUV look sporty.
Similarly, the black theme will continue on the inside. Hence, we can expect black upholstery with red inserts. That is a typical configuration we see on Dark Edition models of Tata Motors cars. I am not sure if there will be any additional features. Nevertheless, that is not necessarily a bad thing since the Curvv is already loaded up to the brim with the latest tech and convenience amenities. The top highlights of the regular model incorporate:

Since the Tata Curvv Dark Edition will majorly embody aesthetic alterations, it is clear that there won’t be any changes to the powertrain options. Hence, it will continue to get the new 1.2-litre GDi turbo petrol engine called Hyperion which generates a healthy 125 hp and 225 Nm (250 Nm transient torque on demand), 1.2-litre turbo petrol which outputs a familiar 118 hp and 170 Nm and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine called Kryojet, which belts out a handy 115 hp and 260 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. These mills will pair with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox. In India, the prices of the regular Curvv start at Rs 10 lakh and go up to Rs 19.20 lakh, ex-showroom.
