Specs
On August 7, the electric iteration of the Tata CURVV EV is about to launch. There are not many reports explaining the details of the kind of powertrain it will carry. Still, most elements might be borrowed from the Nexon EV. It will be based on the Gen 2 Acti.ev architecture and might possess two battery pack options – a 30.2 or a 40.5 kWh. We can assume a range of over 450 km on a single charge with the bigger battery pack. For exact information, we just need to wait a few more days. In ICE guise, it will have 1.2-litre turbo petrol, 1.2-litre TDI turbo petrol and 1.5-litre turbo diesel engines with automatic and manual transmissions.

Our View
I feel Tata Motors is attempting to change the future of the mid-size SUV segment in India. Until now, the coupe appearance was reserved for the absolute high-end luxury SUVs from BMW, Mercedes, etc. Hence, the perception of such SUVs has always been premium. With the CURVV, the Indian auto player aims to change that perception and make this body type a mass-market product. Apart from that, the features list on the CURVV is quite extensive. Let us keep an eye out for how well customers receive it.
