Tata has announced the official prices of the low cost 4×2 variants of its first crossover Tata Aria in India. The Aria 4×2 starts at Rs. 11.61 ex-showroom Delhi for the base variant. The low cost variant has been specially developed by Tata after not-so-encouraging sales of the pricey 4×4 variant in India. Apart from being a two-wheel drive rather than a 4 wheel drive, the low cost Aria has cut down on some gadgetry also for keeping the cost of the crossover low and making it a better proposition for cost conscious buyer in India.
The 4×4 variant of Tata Aria which was originally launched in India starts at Rs. 12.91 Lakhs and goes up to Rs. 15.50 Lakhs ex-showroom Delhi.
What Is Difference Between Tata Aria 4×4 and 4×2
Some of the important differences between Tata Aria 4×4 and 4×2 are:
- As the name clearly impels, 4×4 is a 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive while the 4×2 is a rear wheel drive
- No fully loaded variant is available in 4×2 configuration as 4×2 does not have top of the line Pride variant
- Tata Aria 4×2 Top end variant Prestige does not have Alloy wheels, GPS Navigation system, Electronic Stability program and Traction Control System which 4×4 Pride variant has
- The safety ratings of the 4×2 chassis does not comply with the NCAP standards unlike the Aria 4×4
- Tata Aria 4×2 is 200 Kg lighter in weight, so its quicker than 4×4 in acceleration
- Tata Aria 4×2 delivers a ARAI certified mileage of 13.7 KMPL (which is slightly better than ARAI 4×4 at 13.5 KMPL)
- Aria 4×2 comes equipped with rear parking sensors compared to the rear parking cameras in 4×4
- Of course, the price difference, the Aria 4×2 is priced at about Rs. 70,000 lower compared to the Tata Aria 4×4

The prices of three variants of Tata Aria 4×2 ex-showroom Delhi are as follows:
- Tata Aria 4×2 Pure is priced at Rs. 11.61 Lakhs
- Tata Aria 4×2 Pleasure is priced at Rs. 12.61 Lakhs
- Tata Aria 4×2 Prestige is priced at Rs. 14.26 Lakhs
