The Tata Altroz is going to make its first public debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show to be held during the month of March this year.
Tata Motors has today revealed the name of its upcoming premium hatchback. The 45X concept based Maruti Baleno challenger is going to be called as the Altroz. The Tata Altroz is going to make its first public debut at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show which is set to take place during the month of March this year. Subsequently, it is expected that this hatchback will arrive in the Indian market sometime during the second half of 2019.
The Altroz is the first vehicle to be based on Tata Motors all-new Alpha architecture. The homegrown automaker is going to use this platform for all its future products measuring up to 4 meters in length. And for cars measuring above 4-meters, it will use the Omega platform on which the Harrier is based upon.

The Tata Altroz is expected to be priced in-between the price range of INR 5 lakh to INR 8 lakh. It competition, in addition to the Maruti Baleno will include Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz and the Volkswagen Polo.
Going by the numerous spy shots of the same circulating on the internet, we can clearly see that this premium hatchback comes with the very sleek exterior design. The same in sync with the concept iteration which was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo.

The Altroz is going to be quite a feature-rich vehicle. It is going to offer a part-digital-part-anologue intrument cluster like the one seen on the Tata Harrier. Other creature comforts will include automatic climate control, steering mounted audio controls, cruise control, touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Car Play connectivity to name a few. In terms of safety, the Tata Altroz is going to offer dual front airbags with ABS and EBD along with rear parking sensors and high-speed alert system as standard.
The engine specifications of the Tata Altroz as still under the wraps. However, it is likely that the same is going to come with a 1.2-litre petrol and the 1.5-litre diesel engine. The transmission options will include a 5-speed manual gearbox. There could be an automatic transmission option on offer as well.
