Tata Motors is planning for JTP version of the Altroz, which will get a more powerful engine and other mechanical upgrades for a better experience.
Tata is launching the new Altroz this month, which will go against the Hyundai Elite i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza, Volkswagen Polo and Honda Jazz. The hatchback has already been unveiled and except the price, every other thing has been revealed.
Tata has tied up with Jayem Automotive, a performance tuning company. The result of that is the Tiago JTP, which uses a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, producing 115 BHP. Not only that, but the steering and suspension have been tweaked for the hot hatch.
Fresh reports reveal that Tata might also offer a JTP version of the Altroz. Its performance version is reportedly under development and might be launched by 2021. However, this time, Tata Altroz JTP will come with a more powerful diesel engine.

Reports reveal that Tata Altroz JTP might get a diesel engine which will produce around 110 BHP. Nexon comes with a 1.5-litre diesel engine that produces 110 BHP. The same engine comes in Altroz, but has been detuned to produce 90 BHP and 200 Nm of peak torque.
Just like the Tiago, Tata Altroz JTP Diesel will get a different styling, which will make it look sportier. Besides an all-black cabin, it might get restyled bumpers, air vents on the hood and a flat-bottom steering wheel.
Mechanical upgrades will include tweaked suspension and handling. The setup will be lowered and stiffened for its performance purpose. Altroz JTP will be amongst the very few performance-oriented cars with a diesel engine.

Soon, it will also get a turbo-petrol engine which should produce around 100-110 BHP with a 5-speed manual gearbox along with a 7-speed DCT. Altroz turbo-petrol is likely to be launched by mid-2020 itself.
