Tata Altroz will get BS-VI compliance petrol engine and the interior shows a 5-speed manual gearbox for the same.
Tata Altroz was first showcased at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show and already the spy shots of the premium hatchback are surfacing the internet. The new spy shots reveal the interiors of the Tata Altroz and give an overview of how the upcoming car will look from inside.
For starters, it gets a multi-function steering wheel which allows volume control, song change and is likely to sport cruise control switch as standard on the top-end models. The 7-inch coloured TFT screen alongside the analogue speedometer. The screen displays turn-by-turn navigation along with the name of the current song also can be seen on the display.
Furthermore, the interiors of the Tata Altroz also sees a floating touchscreen infotainment system which gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as connectivity features. Also, Bluetooth connectivity and voice command can also be observed once the car launched in the Indian market.

Automatic climate control with rear AC vents, push button start/stop, keyless entry, adjustable ORVM’s are some of the convenience features the car will get. On the exteriors, the car gets 8-spoke alloy wheels which looks like 16-inches, projector headlights with LED DRLs, LED tail lights and large fog lamps on the front can be observed.
As for the powertrain, Tata Altroz will be powered by two petrol and one diesel engine. The former will borrow a smaller 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine from Tata Tiago. It will churn out 84 bhp with a peak torque of 114 Nm. The other 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol motor is likely to churn out 102 bhp with 140 Nm of torque.
The power figures of the diesel are still not known but we expect it will borrow the 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine from the Nexon. However, the power figures might be detuned to a lower state for better fuel efficiency.

Safety features like ABS with EBD, dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, high-speed alert system and seat belt reminder will be made standard across all variants. The top-end trims could see the addition of more airbags but that will incur to expensive cost.
The prices for the upcoming Tata Altroz is expected to start from 5.70 lakh and will go up to Rs 8.91 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Once launched it will compete against the likes of Toyota Glanza, Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz, Volkswagen Polo and Maruti Baleno.
Tata Motors recently suffered sales in passenger vehicles segment. The entry of Tata into an all-new premium hatchback segment with the Altroz will help them regain their position. New models usually tend to increase the sales of the manufacturer by a considerable amount.
