Tata Motors have confirmed that the Altroz will be launched on January 22 with deliveries from mid-February. It is expected to be priced between Rs 5.3 Lakhs to 8.5 Lakhs.
Tata Motors have revealed that the launch date of the Altroz premium hatchback is on January 22, 2020. That is when we will come to know about the detailed price break up of all the variants of the Altroz. The bookings for the Altroz have already commenced from December 4 across all Tata dealerships for a token of Rs 25,000. Now, we have come to know that Tata will being deliveries of the Altroz to its customers only from mid-February, 2020. As per the bookings that Tata Motors have recieved so far, it is the petrol powered Altroz that is gathering more interest.
Tata Altroz will get two engine option as of now, the third one set to come later. Initially, it will come with BS-6 compliant 1.2 Litre petrol and 1.5 Litre diesel engines. The petrol engine is capable of producing 86 BHP and 113 Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine will pump out 90 BHP and 200 Nm of peak torque.
The third engine that will come later on, is the 1.2 Litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol unit from Nexon. The engine specs are not revealed but it should produce around 100 BHP on the Altroz. On the Nexon, it produces 110 BHP. Further, a 5-speed manual gearbox will come as standard initially. Later, Altroz is speculated to get a DCT gearbox as well.
Features onboard the Altroz include Front and rear fog lamps, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment from Harmon Kardon with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 7-inch digital instrument console, Projector headlamps, Height-adjustable driver’s seat, Steering mounted controls, Auto climate control, Rear AC vents and Cruise Control.

On the safety front, Tata Altroz sits on a newly developed platform that is more reinforced. Features for that include Dual Front Airbags, ABS with EBD, Cornering Lights, Rear Parking Sensors, Rear Parking camera with Guidelines, Auto Headlamps and ISOFIX.

Later in 2020, Tata Motors is also going to introduce the Altroz EV. This year, it was showcased at the Geneva Motor Show and we might also see it at the 2020 Auto Expo. It will be the third EV from Tata, after Tigor and Nexon.
