Tata Altroz will launch soon in June 2019 and will be a premium hatchback offering from Tata which is built on ALFA platform.
Tata Altroz was spied again featuring steel wheels. Considering, the spy shot revealed is a base variant then the car will miss out on other features too like LED Tail lamps, touchscreen infotainment system, semi-digital instrument cluster. Projector headlamps will give a miss too.
Considering its a base variant, the automatic climate control will be a miss on the interiors and so will the rear power windows.
Recently, Tata Altroz was spied testing on the Himalayan roads, probably to check the high altitude testing. The car features a split design headlamp and the top spec trim gets projector headlamps, LED DRL’s and LED Tail lamps.

Tata Altroz borrows a lot of features from the Nexon. Since it is a base trim, rear ac vents can give a miss along with push-button start. Driver armrest, electrically adjustable ORVM’s, roof rails, fog lamps and parking sensors are premium features which the car may see a miss.
Tata Altroz will be made available in petrol and diesel engines. However, reports suggest that the car will be available in diesel only when launched. The petrol model may come out later.

Tata Altroz will be powered by a 1.5L diesel engine which is the same from Nexon. However, for Altroz it will be de-tuned for higher fuel efficiency and will be mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine will deliver a power of 84bhp and is tuned to 114Nm of torque. There are also talks that Altroz might get a more powerful petrol engine suitable for higher trims. The motor will be 1.2-litre, turbocharged petrol, churning out 100bhp with 140Nm of torque. It could also get a dual-clutch automatic transmission but there are no confirmed new from the manufacturers.
Safety features like dual airbags, ABS with EBD, child seat anchor points, seat belt warning will be standard.
Once launched, Tata Altroz will compete with the likes of Maruti Baleno, Volkswagen Polo, Hyundai Elite i20, Toyota Glanza and Honda Jazz. The expected price for the Altroz will be between Rs 6 lakh-Rs 9 lakh(ex-showroom).
