To commemorate the second anniversary of Tata Altroz, its homegrown carmaker has launched Dark Editions of XT and XZ+ diesel variants
Tata Motors, the fast-growing homegrown carmaker, has today announced the second anniversary of its B2-segment hatchback – Altroz. In line with the celebrations, the carmaker has announced the launch of Dark Editions of the XT and XZ+ diesel variants. The all-black ‘Dark’ model of the hatchback was launched back in July 2021 and has received a pretty overwhelming response for the boldness of its full black exterior and interior. With the launch of the two new variants, the carmaker is now hoping to find more takers of the special version of its most premium hatchback ever. Bookings for the two new models start today and the Dark XT diesel variant is available at an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs 7.96 lakh.

Commenting on this occasion, Mr. Rajan Amba, Vice President, Sales, Marketing and Customer Care, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. said, “The ALTROZ has created its own mark in the premium hatchback market with more than 1.2 lakh happy owners. With over 20% market share (YTD) in its segment, it has been very popular amongst customers. The addition of the #DARK to its portfolio last year further enhanced its style quotient. The ALTROZ offers true international standards of safety, design and performance and has played an important role in enhancing our New Forever range. We would like to celebrate the brands 2nd anniversary with our customers with these product extensions, making it more accessible and offering exciting feature updates. With increasing recognition from Indian consumers and earning incremental market share year on year, we are confident that ALTROZ is poised for more success in the future.”
Visually, the recently launched Tata Altroz Dark XT and XZ+ feature the same all-black theme seen on the exterior and interior of the previously available models in this special range. Other than featuring all the equipment available on the regular trims, these cars will even benefit from extras like perforated leatherette seats, rear armrest, #DARK tint Hyper-style wheels, height adjustable driver seat, rear headrest, front adjustable seat belts, leather wrapped steering wheels, leather wrapped gear knob and more. Furthemore, the Dark XT variant will feature #DARK mascot to help it look more premium in spite of being a mid-range trim. On the other hand, the top-spec Dark XZ+ trim will even feature extra safety equipment in the form of Brake Sway Control and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). It may be noted that the former made its debut on the Punch and has been quick to make it to the premium hatchback.

The Maruti Baleno and Hyundai i20-rivalling B2-segment hatchback has been widely appreciated for its high crash worthiness, stylish exterior, highest safety score of 5-starts from GNCAP, spacious and comfortable interior and sensible pricing. It’s currently available in three engine variants – 1.2L Revotron Petrol, 1.2L i-Turbo Petrol and 1.5L Revotorq Diesel.
