Road accidents are an unfortunate reality of driving and the world of automobiles. However, we must prioritize safety and traffic regulations at all costs.
According to the report by National Crime Records Bureau, Tamil Nadu leads the list of most accidents in India. The southernmost state bears this undesirable record according to the data for 2021. It is closely followed by other states like Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh. We must mention here that these stats represent the number of cases that are reported. But there are many occasions where an official police complaint is not lodged either because the loss is not that significant or there is a mutual agreement between the parties involved.

Tamil Nadu Has The Most Accidents Per Year
Going by the official data, Tamil Nadu recorded over 55,000 road accident cases in 2021 alone. For the same year, Madhya Pradesh had over 48,000 cases, while Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh had over 34,000 and 33,000 cases respectively. Interestingly, the other South Indian state of Kerala recorded over 32,000 cases of road accidents in 2021. This is quite weird that the three South Indian states are among the leading areas for most number of road accidents.

We already know that overspeeding is the major cause of crashes on the road. Hence, we must strive to follow traffic regulations and drive within the speed limit in order to curtail such undesirable situations. If you are driving slowly, the chances of you controlling any situation increase tremendously. There are instances where people get involved in collisions even if they are not at fault. Also, you must encourage people around you to follow traffic rules and report reckless drivers or the miscreants who create ruckus on the roads. That is the only way to safeguard our roads.

Indian roads are infamous for being notoriously dangerous. Part of the reason why that is so is that our roads are quite unpredictable.
