The cumulative sales recorded for April to August 2019 are 3.46 Lakh units, in comparison of 2.99 lakh units, for the same period last year. The Y-o-Y growth of cumulative sales stands at 15.72%.
Commenting on the growth trajectory, Mr. Devashish Handa, Vice President, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd., said, “SMIPL continues the growth momentum, despite the significant short-term impact of floods in the strong Suzuki markets such as Kerala and Maharashtra, and the ongoing industry decline for the 10th month in succession. Weak consumer sentiments have been one of the key reasons for the downward trend in the auto industry. Even under these challenging times, SMIPL has been able to prove its mettle.”

Main sales force for Suzuki comes from Access 125, Burgman Street 125 and Gixxer 155. The major contributor is the Access scooter, which clocks around 50,000 units every month, securing the third best-selling scooter position.
To boost the sales, Suzuki launched the Gixxer SF 250 a couple of months back, which has garnered decent attention. The fully-faired 250cc sportsbike is priced at Rs 1.70 Lakhs (ex-showroom), going against KTM RC200 and Yamaha Fazer 250.
Suzuki recently upgraded the Gixxer SF and Gixxer 155 with cosmetic upgrades, which makes them look sleeker, sharper and sportier. The SF looks similar to the SF 250 and a proper sportsbike as well.
