Suzuki Motorcycle India has sent out an invite for an upcoming launch next month. The details are not revealed, however, it might be the Gixxer 250.
For a long time now, we have been speculating the launch of Suzuki Gixxer 250 in India. Now that Suzuki has sent out invites for a launch on 20th May, we expect our speculations turning into a confirmation.
As of now, no other Suzuki motorcycle is speculated to launch in India soon. The only rumours are for Gixxer and Gixxer SF with a 250cc engine. Many publications are suggesting that it might get a 300cc engine.
Right now, we can only speculate what Suzuki has in mind for the Indian market. Whatever comes, we know that it will be a performance based motorcycle.

Recently, images and design sketches of Hajoue DR300 were leaked. Hajoue is Suzuki’s partner in China, where it sells rebadged products. So, this could very well be the GSX-S300 for the global market.
The Gixxer brand is developed especially for India. In the global market, it is GSX series which includes naked as well as fully faired bikes. Likewise, the Gixxer 150 is basically a local version of the GSX-S150.
Suzuki Gixxer 250 might use a liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. The power figures are not known, but we can expect somewhere in 22-25 BHP and 20-23 NM torque ranges.
In terms of design, it will look a bit bigger and more aggressive than the 150cc version. A single piece handlebar, split seats and a muscular design will be offered.

Features onboard might include LED headlamps, LED tail lamps, a fully digital instrument console, split grab rails and couple more. The console will be borrowed from Gixxer 150, but will provide more information.
With its debut in India, Suzuki Gixxer 250 will squarely go against Yamaha FZ25. The fully faired version will go against Fazer 25 and R15 V3.
