Jimny Commercial Vehicle Reviewed
This is the commercial vehicle version of the Jimny. This automatically translates into something that is designed to be more durable and rugged in contrast to being luxurious and feature-loaded. And that is exactly what this Jimny is all about. From the outside, the Jimny is quite basic in appearance. This is highlighted by Halogen headlamps, plastic cladding on the bumper, wheel arch cladding, door handles, ORVMs, front grille and bumper. The wheels are steel units and not alloys. The rear glass is not blacked out which is the case with most commercial vans. There are no rear seats and there is a large compartment to carry luggage instead.

The same goes for the interiors which are not particularly modern or practical but utilitarian, at best. The plastic used throughout the cabin is scratchy and the equipment list is quite short. There are not too many storage spaces inside the Jimny either. The seats are not the most comfortable as they are stacked against the steel cage at the back of the seats to keep the luggage in place.

Specs
The Jimny comes with a 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 101 hp and 130 Nm of peak power and torque respectively. This engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and the power is sent to the rear wheels under normal circumstances. However, where the Jimny really comes into its own is when it is put in a 4×4 drive system with a low gear ratio. It is a decent off-roading vehicle if you decide to take it off the highways. But apart from that, the performance for daily commute is not too exciting.
