Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara was launched in the Indian market in 2007. It was an anticipated launch but the kind of response the SUV received was not even average. Even though the Grand Vitara look fairly handsome but it was the high price tag as being a CBU which never let it taste success in Indian. And now the 2013 Suzuki Escudo also known as Grand Vitara here has received a facelift. Few days back we share with you some Spy Pictures of new Grand Vitara 2013.
The SUV is a massive success in its domestic market that is Japan, but it’s an all different story in the Indian market. So Suzuki will get the face lifted Grand Vitara to the Japanese market first. Talking of the 2013 Grand Vitara the changes made to the SUV are that ground breaking. On the exteriors the Suzuki has given the SUV a new revised twin bar grill, a new bumper with black trim, tweaked headlamps, and an all new set of alloy wheels.
Major change on the exterior is that the Suzuki has removed the spare wheel on the tailgate, now that’s a little disappointing. On the exterior part Suzuki played it safe and just changed the and just changed the door panel and the color of the seat. Suzuki also introduced a new special edition of the SUV named “X-Adventure” which gets a new chrome grill, a rear spoiler, privacy glass, sunroof, new seats steering wheel and gear lever with a touch of red accent and 18 inch wheels. To power comes directly from the 2.4 liter engine that produces 166 PS and 225 Nm of torque. We get the same engine in the Indian version.
Suzuki didn’t mention any plans to launch the 2013 Grand Vitara outside Japan, but we do expect the SUV to hit the Indian road soon. All we expect is Maruti Suzuki to assemble the components locally which will give the SUV tax and price benefit. In India the Suzuki Vitara SUV comes in two variants a 2.4 litre manual which is priced at 16.94 lakhs ex-showroom New Delhi and a 2.4 litre automatic which is priced at 18.26 lakhs ex-showroom New Delhi.
