The new Suzuki Gixxer SF 150 uses the same engine from the previous generation but there have been updates to the chassis, swingarm and overall dimension. And of course, it looks much better now!
Suzuki Motorcycles India Private Limited has launched the updated 2019 Suzuki Gixxer SF. The new Gixxer SF uses the same 155 cc engine from the outgoing model but there has been updates to the chassis, swingarm and overall dimensions. It also wears the new design language for the Gixxer family that is seen in Gixxer SF 250 as well. Priced at Rs. 1,09,870 (ex-showroom Delhi), it is also Rs. 8,000 more expensive than the outgoing model. Here’s all that you need to know about the new Suzuki Gixxer SF 150:
Design
This is where has been the most notable change and it looks almost identical to the new Gixxer SF 250 other than a few differences here and there. The body work is much sharper now with distinctive sharp lines as opposed to the more rounded design language with the previous Gixxer SF. It gets new LED headlamps and tail lamps, split seats and an updated chassis. The Suzuki Gixxer SF 155 will be available in tow colors – Glass Sparkle Black and a dual-tone colour in Metallic Sonic Silver with Glass Sparkle Black highlights.
Engine
The same engine from the previous generation has been carried forward in the new Gixxer SF. Its a 155 cc, single-cylinder, SOHC, two-valve, air-cooled and fuel-injected engine which churns 13.9 bhp of peak power at 8000 rpm and 14 Nm of peak torque at 6000 rpm. The old Gixxer SF was, however, marginally more powerful at 14.5 bhp at 8,000 rpm but torque figures are the same at 14Nm. The Gixxer SF continues with the same 5-speed gearbox.

Changes with this Generation
With this new generation, there has been updates to the chassis which it now shares with the new Gixxer SF 250. It also also gained some weight over the previous generation, weighing full 6 kgs more at 146 kg. There has been changes to the overall dimensions of the bike as well. The overall length, breadth, height including the seat height have decreased while then wheelbase has increased by 10 mm which will offer marginal more stability. The old Gixxer was a superbly sharp motorcycle and even with this new model, it is still quite responsive and sharp. The new clip-on handlebars also give the new Gixxer SF a sportier riding position.
Features
The new Suzuki Gixxer SF 150 is extremely good value for money as well. It comes with single-channel ABS, a fully digital instrument cluster, clip-on handlebars, full LED headlamps and tail lamps and split seats as well. It is easy motorcycle to ride for new riders but still packs in some punch and has extremely good handling as well.

Pricing
The Suzuki Gixxer SF 150 has been priced at Rs. 1.10 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is Rs. 8,000 more expensive than the outgoing model but it also comes with significant updates for that money. The Gixxer SF 150 goes against the Yamaha YZF-R15 and is, in fact, much cheaper than the latter. It still is an extremely fun motorcycle that is great for city commutes and occasional highway runs too.
