Reports suggest that Suzuki Gixxer 250 might be available with a BS-6 engine, right from its launch. The upcoming faired bike is launching on 20th May.
More details on the Suzuki Gixxer 250 incoming! The upcoming quarter-litre motorcycle will only be available in the fully faired SF version, and not with the naked street styling.
As the same suggests, it will be available with a 250cc single-cylinder engine. However, latest reports suggest that the engine will be BS-6 compliant. The emission norms are set to kick in from April 2020.
For BS-6 engines, the engine needs to be equipped with fuel injection, electronic control unit and three-way catalytic converter. So, the new Gixxer will definitely use FI engine.

Gixxer 250 will use a 250cc oil-cooled engine, that is likely to deliver max. output of 26.5 BHP. So, expect the torque figures to be around 23 Nm, while the motor comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
Further reports state that it will be available with dual-ABS channel as standard. For suspension, we can expect conventional telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the back.
It will be available in three colour options – Grey, Silver and Blue. Features onboard will include LED headlamps, LED tail lights, a fully digital instrument console, Split seats and split grab rails.

Reportedly, Suzuki is also planning to revamp its dealerships for the entry of Gixxer 250. Various dealerships have been asked to make the necessary changes for the new layout.
The upcoming Gixxer will be priced according to its competitors, which include Yamaha Fazer 25, Bajaj Pulsar RS200, Yamaha R15 V3, which are all fully faired motorcycles.
In terms of pricing, it will also face competition from KTM Duke 125, Yamaha MT-15 and Bajaj Pulsar NS200. We expect the prices to stay in the Rs 1.2 Lakhs to Rs 1.3 Lakhs range (ex-showroom).

Reportedly, the 2019 Suzuki Gixxer and SF will also be launched on 20th May. The 150cc faired bike will borrow some styling bits from the bigger one.
