After the launch of SF 250, Suzuki will also launch the Gixxer 250 soon. The naked street fighter will be inspired by the global GSX-S300.
Suzuki has just launched the new fully faired Gixxer SF 250 in India, priced at Rs 1.70 Lakhs (ex-showroom). Sadly, the naked street version was not introduced at the launch.
At the launch event, Suzuki officials have confirmed that the Gixxer 250 is coming in a few months. We expect it to be launched in the Festive Season 2019, the time when automakers plan their launches.
The engine, chassis, suspension and braking setup will be the same that comes on SF 250. The change will be in the form of handlebar and the riding posture.

Suzuki Gixxer 250 will get a single-piece handlebar instead of the clip-ons that come on SF 250. This will give the rider an almost upright riding position with rear-set footpegs.
The engine will be the same; the 249cc oil-cooled single-cylinder BS-4 DOHC engine, that comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The unit produces 26.5 BHP and 22 Nm of peak torque.
Telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock setup at the back will handle the suspension. Braking will be taken care of by disc brakes at both the ends with a dual-channel ABS as standard.

The feature list will also be the same – LED headlamps, LED tail lamps, twin exhaust muffler, rear tire hugger, split seats, grab rails, dual-channel ABS and a low-height single piece handlebar.
Now, the Gixxer 250 will be more affordable than the SF 250, as goes the same with the 155 variants. So expect naked street version to go for around Rs 1.5 Lakhs (ex-showroom). At this price, it will go against KTM Duke 200, Yamaha FZ25 and Bajaj Dominar 400.
Also, we expect the Gixxer 155 to receive a major overhaul, inspired by the design of Gixxer 250. Last year itself, Suzuki confirmed that the Gixxer 155 range will get a new-generation update in 2019.
