Suzuki Gixxer 250 is set to be launched on 20th May. Ahead of the launch, we know that it will be available in a fully faired version and not the naked one.
Suzuki is going to launch a new motorcycle on 20th May, which we can now confirm is the Gixxer 250. It has been more than a year now, since the speculations of the bike launching in India began.
Motoroids reports that the upcoming Gixxer might only be available in a fully faired version. No naked Gixxer? The teaser that came to us in the invite also revealed the silhouette of a front fairing.
Further details reveal that it will use a 250cc single-cylinder oil-cooled 4-valve engine. The engine will produce a max. output of 26.5 BHP, and the torque figures are likely to be around 24 Nm.

Suzuki Gixxer 250 will be equipped with dual-channel ABS as a standard fitment. It will be available in three colour options – Grey, Silver and Blue.
Features onboard will include a fully digital instrument console, LED headlamps and LED tail light, for sure. Other bits could include split seats and split grab rails. The same dual-port exhaust muffler that comes on Gixxer will be offered here.
The styling bits will be borrowed from the regular Gixxer. Although, there are rumours suggesting that it could look similar to the Hajoue DR300. Hajoue is the Chinese-arm of Suzuki Motorcycles.
For suspension, it will definitely use conventional telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the back. To keep the costs in check, the chassis might be again taken from the regular Gixxer.

Suzuki Gixxer 250 (or SF) will compete against the likes of Yamaha Fazer 25, KTM RC200, Bajaj RS200 and Yamaha R15 V3. Most of these bikes are priced near the Rs 1.5 Lakh range.
We expect the prices of Gixxer 250 to to range between Rs 1.2 Lakhs to Rs 1.3 Lakhs (ex-showroom). With this price, it can give a good competition to RS200 and Fazer 25.
