Suzuki Access 125 has emerged as the second best selling scooter in India for January 2019. The second position is usually taken by TVS Jupiter.
For the month of January 2019, 54,524 units of Suzuki Access were sold in India. For the same month, TVS Jupiter managed 51,300 units, slipping down to the third position in monthly sales.
For the first time, Access has managed to grab the second position and also overtake Jupiter in the monthly sales. While the first contender remains the same, Honda Activa at 2.13 Lakh units for the month.
The popularity of Access has increased mainly because of a facelift launched in 2016, which gave it minor styling upgrades and minor feature additions too.

TVS Jupiter, on the other hand, has failed to attract more buyers despite offering new colour options and premium variants. It is currently offered in 5 variants – Basic, ZX, ZX Disc, Classic and Grande Edition.
Recently, Suzuki also launched the CBS version of Access 125, demanding a mere price hike of Rs 600. As per the upcoming safety regulations, two-wheelers under 125cc must be equipped with CBS.
For the past few months, we have noticed that the demand for 125cc scooters is increasing. In monthly sales reports, the top 3-4 positions in the list are secured by 125cc scooters.

Suzuki Access 125 is equipped with a 124.6cc engine that produces 8.7 BHP and 10.2 Nm of peak torque. The claimed mileage of the scooter is 55 kmpl, which combined with a 5.6 Litre fuel tank, gives around 250 kms riding range.
Features onboard include combined brake, optional disc brake, USB charging socket, front storage pocket, a digital meter on the cluster, One Push Central Lock System and Black alloy wheels.
TVS Jupiter comes with a 109.7cc engine that is capable of delivering 7.9 BHP and 8.4 Nm of torque. Although, there are reports speculating that Jupiter might also get a 125cc engine soon.

Features onboard Jupiter include LED headlamps, optional disc brake, digital-analogue speedometer, adjustable shocks and diamond cut alloy wheels.
The prices of Suzuki Access 125 start off at Rs 55,977 to Rs 61,235. Jupiter is priced from Rs 51,823 to Rs 59,900 (prices ex-showroom).
