Come 2018 Auto Expo, Suzuki is set to unveil a couple of products while showcasing mildly updated existing portfolio. Our friends at Autocar India report that the company will unveil a brand new Suzuki 150cc automatic scooter at the coming expo. The 150cc scooter segment is currently ruled by Vespa and its subsidiary company Aprilia. The Vespa SXL/VXL/Elegante 150 marks the only luxury scooter available in India while the Aprilia SR 150 is the only sports scooter in the nation. The 150cc segment ruled by the Italian so far will see several competitors rise in the coming months. One such offering will come from TVS named Graphite. The TVS Graphite Concept was showcased at 2016 Auto Expo and will be showcased in the production guise next month. Suzuki is not far behind as the upcoming scooter from the Japanese manufacturer is suspected to be a 150cc unit itself.
2018 Swish – Upcoming Suzuki 150cc Automatic Scooter?
Although the details pertaining to the upcoming Suzuki 150cc automatic scooter are sketchy, we expect the product to be the 2018 Swish. The 2018 Suzuki Swish made its global debut at the 2017 EICMA show held in Milan, Italy. The front of the Swish features a headlight mounted on the apron, which otherwise, were mounted on the handlebar in the previous generation. The indicators are housed within the headlight along with the DRL (Daytime Running Light) and the entire cluster uses only LED. The tail light and the rear indicators are also well integrated into the bodywork. The one-piece seat allows the pillion to rider higher than the rider with split grab handles offering support. Even the pillion footpegs sit flush into the bodywork.
The 2018 Suzuki Swish offers its customers the latest of the tech on board. Customers are greeted with an all-digital display and the fuel cap has been moved to the front. The cycle parts on the 2018 Suzuki Swish include telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers. Stopping power comes from a disc at the front and drum at the rear.
