Ssangyong Rexton G4 facelift has been spotted testing and it could be that the Mahindra Alturas G4 could be introduced with a similar set of changes as well.
Ssangyong introduced the present generation Rexton G4 in the international markets in 2017. Now, a fresh set of images have surfaced online of the Rexton G4 under camouflage which means that Ssangyong might be working on a mid-life facelift for the Rexton G4. This facelift will mainly include some cosmetic changes to the design of the car but there wouldn’t be any mechanical changes.
Talking about the exterior cosmetic changes which are going to be bulk of changes with this mid-life facelift, the Rexton G4 facelift will get a restyled front bumper along with a new honeycomb grille design which will also be much larger than the one is the present one. The headlight units will also see some tweaks to their design. At the rear, the tailgate and the rear bumper will also receive some design overalls with new set of tail lamps as well.
On the inside, however, there wouldn’t be any major changes. An improvement in the overall fit and finish is expected in the form of better materials used across the dashboard and door panels. There will probably also be an update to the infotainment system as well. However, the interior design and layout is going to remain largely the same.

The Ssangyong Rexton G4 is sold in India as the Mahindra Alturas G4. Very interestingly, a certain ALturas G4 with some styling updates was recently seen in India as well. It was wearing new alloy wheels and had a redesigned grille and with minor revisions to the front bumper as well. However, it is still unknown if the updates to the Ssangyong Rexton G4 will be featured on the Alturas G4 as well. Or it could be that the Alturas G4 is due to receive a facelift of its own.

As for the Alturas G4, it is powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine that produces 181hp and 420Nm of torque. The engine is paired to a Mercedes-sourced 7-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The recently spotted Mahindra Alturas G4 could as well be testing the new BS-VI compliant engine. Mahindra will launch the Alturas G4 with a BS-VI compliant engine before the April 1, 2020 deadline of the BS-VI emission norms.
