Seatbelt is the easiest way to ensure basic safety for all passengers in any given car
After a terrible accident involving the wife of Sonu Sood a couple of weeks ago, the actor has taken it upon himself to spread awareness around the importance of wearing a seatbelt. India is, unfortunately, home to millions of accidents each year. On most occasions, following simple safety practices could have saved many lives. With the awareness around traffic regulations still quite low, it is necessary to talk and discuss about such topics in public domains.
Sonu Sood Raises Awareness About Wearing Seatbelt
The actor took to his social media handle to talk about this critical issue. He mentions that the entire world saw the details of the accident involving his wife, sister-in-law and nephew a couple of weeks ago. Thankfully, none of them suffered any severe injury. Sonu cites the fact that they were all wearing seatbelts which saved their lives. He even mentions that many people, especially in the rear seats, think that they don’t need to wear seat belts.
Apart from that, many people simply hold the seatbelt with their hands to fool the cops. They often believe that seatbelts are there just to be safe from the challans of the traffic Police. However, we must understand that a seatbelt is there for your own safety. In tragic accidents, the sudden jerks to the body cause the most damage, including fatal injuries. Seatbelts secure the passengers to their seats regardless of how hard the collision is. Hence, the occupants don’t get thrown around. Remember that wearing a seatbelt is for you and your family, and no one else.
My View
I appreciate the fact that a massive actor like Sonu Sood is leveraging his star power to create discussions around such critical topics. Just like companies use celebrities to sell their products because people listen to their heroes, it is the responsibility of these stars to spread messages for the well-being and betterment of society as well. Let us hope that more actors and other influential personalities come to the fore to raise awareness regarding such pressing issues going forward.
