Celebrated National Geographic Photographer Steve Winter launched the Skoda Yeti “Right of Way” Expedition (ROWE) calendar on 27th Jan 2011 in the presence of participants from the Expedition. After passing through 4 states, 17 scenic rivers, 4 rugged mountain ranges, 5 dense forests, miles of desert and overcoming some of the most challenging off-roading landscapes of the country the adventurous convoy returned to the base camp. Skoda celebrated this grand finale by unveiling a magnificent calendar that consists of slew of best photographs clicked by participants during their month long breathtaking adventurous journey in India’s forests, endless deserts & all the harshest terrains.
The final images for the calendar were shortlisted by Steve Winter who was spoilt for choice to narrow the list down to 12. Commenting on the occasion Mr Steve Winters said “India has always fascinated me and it is a sense of pride that I am associated with The Skoda Yeti Right of Way Expedition as it has given me a chance to see these forests and the wildlife through these pictures. In the wild every photographer will depend on his vehicle and I have come to believe the Skoda Yeti is a perfect amalgamation of features to suit the wild side. After speaking with the participants I realize that the expedition in itself was a unique experience and a great platform for nature and wild life enthusiasts. I would have been proud to have my name associated with some of these images because of their detail, depiction of adventure and emotion. The images represent the adventure and excitement associated with the Skoda ROWE. The calendar by itself is a beautiful piece of work put together by the participants. I’ve had the nicest and the toughest assignment in short listing pictures for the calendar and I sincerely hope you enjoy the calendar as much as I do”
