SUVs are the kind of vehicles which are very distinguished and have their unique road presence. Inspite of their high cost, a lot of buyers do not hesitate spending a little more for such cars rather going for the conventional family sedans.
The SUV segment has been on a roll with some of the very successful offerings including Tata Safari, Mahindra Scorpio, Ford Endeavour, Chevrolet Captiva and the very recent Toyota Fortuner. But the newest of the Indian line-up is the Skoda Yeti.
Skoda had recently introduced the Yeti CRDI diesel variant priced between Rs.15 to Rs.17Lakh and it seems to be drawing attention. To inject more competition, the company has announced of introducing a 1.6 Litre MPFI petrol engine soon.
The car will adopt the same engine as coming with the Volkswagen Vento which churns out a maximum power of 104 BHP and a maximum torque of 25.5Nm. The car reaches the 100kmph mark in a little above 12 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 176 kmph and will be offered with a 5 Speed Manual Transmission.
The Yeti comes loaded with the following features":
- ABS, traction control
- Electronic differential lock
- Electronic stability program, hydraulic brake assist and anti-slip regulation.
The Diesel variant is already claimed to deliver a mileage of 17.67 kmpl which is quite surprising and amazing and we should wait and watch the kind of competition this new variant brings into the market.
