Skoda is bringing in new SUVs in India from this year, but its biggest launch will be the Vision SUV. The compact SUV will be showcased next month.
Skoda has teased the Vision SUV, ahead of its debut at the 2020 Auto Expo next month. Being based on the heavily localized MQB AO IN platform, it will be priced aggressively. After its partnership with Volkswagen, both the brands will now share platforms, engines and other technologies.
In the latest teaser video of Skoda Vision SUV, we can see that it follows the latest Skoda design language. It gets Skoda’s signature butterfly front grille design with horizontal slats. The grille is flanked by sleek LED DRLs. We can also spot some chrome bits on the front.
Inside the cabin, the Vision SUV will get a flat-bottom steering wheel, a digital instrument console with MID, premium quality materials and a large touchscreen infotainment system. Volkswagen’s virtual cockpit will also come on this SUV.

Skoda Vision SUV draws inspiration from the Karoq and Kamiq, all three following an identical SUV design. The styling will be aggressive and put in a way that it comes out as a sporty SUV. At the back, it will get wrap around LED tail lamps flanking the big “Skoda” insignia.
Under the hood, we can expect an all-new 1.0 Litre turbocharged petrol engine. Skoda has confirmed that the small SUVs would not get diesel engines post BS6 norms. The engine will be capable of producing around 115-120 PS and 200 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed MT and a 7-speed DSG.
Reports also suggest that Volkswagen and Skoda are also developing CNG kits for their small cars. Both the manufacturers would not have small cars with diesel engines, which will instead get CNG-petrol combination as an option.
